I offer personalized online saxophone lessons rooted in over fifteen years of playing experience, with a background in classical, jazz and Eastern European (Balkan, Turkish, Macedonian, etc.) Whether youre a complete beginner, picking it back up, or looking to deepen specific skills, I'm here to support your growth.
I'm happy to work with students on long-term development or one-off sessions focused on areas like tone, technique, improvisation/self-expression, or preparing for an audition or performance.
Lessons are affirming, flexible, and tailored to your pace and goals. LGBTQIA+ and Neurodivergent-affirming.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is patient, intuitive, and rooted in helping students develop their own sound and confidence. I've worked with a range of students over the past five years -- some learning to improvise in jazz, others exploring traditional Balkan folk music by ear, and many building core skills like tone and ear training. I also have experience leading drop-in classes at a local middle school, and I enjoy creating a welcoming environment where students feel encourage to explore and learn at their own pace.
Credentials & Affiliations
I studied jazz and classical performance at the Oregon Center for the Arts at Southern Oregon University, where I trained under Rhett Bender. I've played in a wide range of wind ensembles and bands, including the Siskiyou Saxophone Orchestra, Southern Oregon Jazz Ensemble, the Rogue Valley Symphonic Band, and various wind ensembles. I studied Balkan/Turkish style saxophone with Eleni Govetas and Katherine Foster, respectively, I currently play with Kef -- an Eastern European Folk band based in Eugene, Oregon, which plays Macedonian, Serbian, and Bulgarian brass repertoire as well as some international folk dance music.
