Sav Izzi

I am a Chicago based guitarist, songwriter, content creator and musician.  I studied and graduated from the GIT program at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA.  I have been playing guitar for over 20 years.  I have over 10 years of teaching experience giving private guitar lessons and group lessons.  I am passionate when it comes to playing guitar.  I love the creative expression playing an instrument offers.  I have been able to channel that expression while playing with others and by writing my own original music.   I love teaching and sharing my knowledge with students to help them reach their goals.  

I am a professional guitarist and musician.  I have taught children and adults in park districts, elementary schools and in home privately.  I am a member of a local rock, funk and soul band called BabyBrutha.  We have recorded and released our own independent music and have played many notable venues around the city of Chicago.  I also have recorded and released my own independent music as well.

I am very open and thorough when it comes to teaching guitar.  I take the time to explain every new concept and answer questions to help the students grasp what they are learning.  I also play through every musical passage with my students.  I also stress the importance of developing good timing, using proper technique and reading music.   I want to instill good habits up front to ensure students get the most out of their practice and development.
