About

A classical-crossover violinist with a virtuosic rock flair, Siobhan Cronin has performed with
some of the most iconic artists in recent history including the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Michael
Bublé, Josh Groban, Ricky Martin, Wyclef Jean, Sarah McLachlan, Plácido Domingo, Andrea
Bocelli, Earth Wind and Fire, Rod Stewart, and others. She now tours as a member of the multi-
platinum band STARSET, with whom she has performed numerous sold-out shows throughout
the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. She has been featured in publications such as Forbes magazine for surpassing 2 billion streams worldwide.

As a solo artist, Siobhan alternates between acoustic and electric violin where she makes
extensive use of technology and effects, always pushing the boundaries to demonstrate how trulyversatile and wide ranging the violin can be. Her performances have brought her to some of the finest halls in the country such as the Lincoln Center in New York and the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami. Her charisma and versatility have also led her to be a featured performer for
international brands such as BMW, Ferrari and Emirates airlines, where she has been known to
showcase anything from a classical concerto to modern rock and metal.

In addition to her performing schedule, Siobhan is a composer, arranger, producer, and recording artist. She has recorded and arranged three studio albums with her symphonic metal project Lost Symphony, and has since been hired by artists and songwriters to arrange and record orchestral scores for numerous projects of various genres. Her recording work has been featured in major films and tv series. Most recently she was the featured solo violinist on the soundtrack to Emmy award winning show, The Queen’s Gambit.

Siobhan received her undergraduate degrees in Violin performance and Economics from the
University of Michigan where she also completed her Masters Degree in performance.

Teaching Style

My teaching style aims to provide students with the technical and musical tools as well as the proper mindset and practice skills to accomplish whatever musical goal they have in mind, regardless of it's scope. Having gone through a rigorous and very strict classical music education, and since going on to have a successful career in both classical and rock music, I discovered that the rigidity and closed-mindedness of the traditional music education system is leaving so many students underserved in terms of the knowledge and support they need to do well in music.

My teaching aims to empower students of all levels to pursue exactly the path they want in music. It is not bound by expectations of the traditional classical repertoire, and I always encourage all of the students to take part in directing the course of what they want to learn. With the proper skills and understanding of music and their instrument of choice, anyone at any level can gain something from lessons with me, whether they are completely new to the instrument, have taken lessons in the past and wish to return, or are active professionals or high level students who want to gain an edge with an outside perspective from an active world touring violinist with experience in many genres.

I approach all students with an outlook of positivity and empowerment, not criticism and limitation, and that no matter how much or little time you have to invest in learning or improving on an instrument, that anything is possible with the proper tools and coaching.
