About

I am a Nashville-based vocalist and voice teacher who focuses on helping singers feel confident, expressive, and healthy in their voice. I work especially well with beginners and intermediates who want clear, simple explanations and friendly, patient guidance. My lessons are relaxed but focused, and my goal is always to make you feel safe to explore your sound and enjoy singing.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is encouraging, clear, and practical. I explain technique in simple language and demonstrate everything so you can copy and feel it in your own body. I like to balance technical work with real songs you love, so each lesson feels fun and musical, not just exercise. I listen carefully to your goals and adapt the lesson to your level and learning speed, so you never feel rushed or judged.

Curriculum

In lessons, we normally start with gentle breathing and body alignment, then move into vocal warm‑ups that focus on healthy tone, resonance, and smooth transitions between registers. After that, we apply the technique directly to songs you choose (or songs I suggest for your level and style). I use simple, repeatable exercises you can record and practice between lessons. I do not require a specific textbook for most contemporary styles. For students who like written material, I may recommend basic vocal technique books or simple songbooks that match your style (pop, rock, worship, musical theatre, etc.). I also share custom warm‑ups and practice notes so you always know exactly what to work on between lessons.

Credentials & Affiliations

I have over 10 years of vocal training in classical, pop, jazz, and musical theatre styles, and I have worked as a jazz band singer and solo vocalist.

I took private lessons and performance training at Berklee College of Music in Boston and completed an internship there, and I hold a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts Studies with an emphasis in performance and directing from Brigham Young University.

I have professional recording studio experience, perform live regularly, and have led vocal workshops.

In college I performed in opera and theatre productions, and I was Miss Upper Valley and the talent award winner at the Miss Idaho competition.

I also directed a full production of Footloose, including the vocal direction for the cast.
