Mr. Arnold has 40 plus years experience playing solo and in Rock and Jazz groups and believes this enables him to teach a wide variety of musical styles. Mr. Arnold believes that all students possess musical talent, and that the trained, experienced teacher will find successful and creative ways to develop this ability. Fundamentals become the building blocks for future progress. Therefore, notation reading, rhythm, ear training, music theory and proper study techniques in memorization will be stressed in his teaching.
Curriculum
My focus is on helping the student develop the fundamentals they need to pursue the style of music they love. The study of proper technique and music theory is stressed to help the student understand and be self sufficient. Depending on the style of music improvisation is also studied. I use instructional books and also material provided by me. Student texts are dependent on the type of music the student wants to pursue.
