About

I am an opera singer from Tamil Nadu, currently based in New Delhi, India where I pursue my professional career in music. I have worked as a vocal coach at the Delhi School of Music, One World College of Music and Sangeet Shyamala (New Delhi) and in online music education platforms like Spardha School of Music. I have trained over a hundred singers, offline and online, toward graded certifications, performances, higher education in music and awards.

I hold a Grade 8 (with distinction) in Western Classical Singing from Trinity College of Music, London, and have received multiple scholarships for exceptional singing from the Delhi School of Music. I am currently undergoing advanced training in Western Classical singing. I am also trained in Indian classical music, having studied at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, New Delhi, and earlier under Pandit Krishna Ballesh in Chennai. I additionally hold the Sangeet Shiromani Diploma in Hindustani Vocals from Delhi University.

In 2023, I was invited to perform at the Jogja Cultural Fest in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, where I presented an opera recital and collaborated with international artists. I have performed across major venues in Delhi, including the Russian Cultural Centre, the Dutch Embassy, and Kamani Auditorium and in Museé Musicals, Chennai. I was also offered the Darmasiswa Indonesian Scholarship for music by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia.

Teaching Style

My teaching approach centres on developing a healthy and sustainable vocal foundation. I work in an organic and highly individualised manner, studying each voice as distinct, even while acknowledging broader voice classifications. I believe every voice carries its own identity and therefore requires a tailored approach. My focus lies in an in-depth understanding of fundamental vocal techniques such as breath support, tone development, vocal identity, and an introduction to placement. I also emphasise the direct application of technique to repertoire from the beginner level onwards, as vocal technique has little value unless singers understand how and where to apply it within music.

Curriculum

Each lesson begins with targeted warm-ups focused on breath support and vocal alignment, followed by technical exercises tailored to the student’s voice. We then apply technique directly to repertoire, working on diction, musical phrasing, and emotional interpretation. Lessons include demonstration, guided repetition, and constructive feedback.
