Sunischay Rai
About
Hello! My name is Sunischay and I am a music educator for piano hailing from the alluring hills of Darjeeling, West Bengal in India. With over 10 years of experience in music, I’ve completed Grade 5 in Piano from Trinity College, London, and continue to deepen my musical journey every day.
It has been a wonderful experience teaching both offline and online classes, primarily focusing on making the learning process enjoyable while instilling a solid foundational understanding of piano in my students. I’ve worked with reputed platforms like reputable institutions such as Spardha School of Music and Winquest, and I also conduct face-to-face classes on Sundays for the students in my locality.
I facilitate a dedicated online teaching area to ensure that my classes are interactive and engaging. If you are an individual who is either new to the world of music or looking to sharpen your already existing skills, I tailor the lessons to every student’s requirements and objectives. My lessons are designed so that every individual can progress at their own pace.
I’m deeply invested in the world of music which is why I have performed in several television and radio programs as well as live events, helping me stay active and connected with the world of music. In parallel to my performing career I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, allowing me to integrate modern technology to my teaching style.
Teaching Style
I’m a certified piano and keyboard instructor with over five years of experience teaching online and offline. I’ve worked with platforms like Spardha School of Music (2019–2024) and Winquest (2024–2025). I guide students of all ages and prepare them for various music exams like Trinity and ABRSM music exams.
I hold a Grade 5 Certificate in Electronic Keyboards with Merit from Trinity College London, along with certifications in teacher training and onboarding. My teaching method combines strong technical skills with creative expression. I use structured, interactive lessons tailored to each student’s pace and goals. I’m passionate about helping students discover their unique musical voice.
Curriculum
As a certified piano and keyboard instructor with over a decade of experience, I take a structured, student-centered approach that combines traditional techniques with modern technology. My goal is to make each lesson interactive, personalized, and musically enriching. Teaching Methodology:
Structured and Flexible: I tailor lessons to match each student’s pace, learning style, and goals. Whether they are preparing for Trinity/ABRSM exams, learning for fun, or developing improvisation skills, each lesson is customized.
Strong Foundation: I focus on note reading, music theory, rhythm, technique, posture, and expression. These elements are all essential for long-term musical growth.
Tech-Enhanced Online Setup: I hold classes in a dedicated teaching space with a digital piano and a dual-camera setup. One camera shows a front view while the other provides a top-down view of the keyboard. This setup helps students see hand movements, finger placements, and dynamics in real time. I maintain high-speed internet to ensure smooth, uninterrupted sessions.
Interactive and Engaging: I use digital sheet music, audio playback to improve learning.
Regular Feedback & Progress Tracking: Students receive ongoing feedback, guided practice routines, and monthly reviews to track their progress and build confidence.
Creativity & Performance: I encourage students to explore improvisation, compose simple pieces, and take part in virtual recitals or group sessions.
I recommend texts based on the student’s age, level, and learning goals.
