Sylvain DESSANE
About
I am a professional violist living in The Hague, the Netherlands. I studied at the CRR in Boulogne-Billancourt, Trinity College London, the Conservatory of The Hague and the Dutch String Quartet Academy in the Netherlands. I have devoted a large part of my life to playing the string quartet. I regularly give concerts with piano, in various chamber music ensembles, in symphony orchestras and I have been teaching for about ten years.
Teaching Style
I try to help my students get as close as possible to perfection, with kindness, encouragement and good humor, at any age and any level! For the violin or viola, I use different methods depending on the age and level of the students (Sassmannshaus, I play the violin, Fiedel Max, little violin in the land of nursery rhymes etc.) and I am open to suggestions from students. I generally like to start the course with a little technique and then work on pieces. I am available for regular or one-off lessons. In Amsterdam, I devoted myself almost exclusively to the string quartet, so I am very happy to offer chamber music lessons.
