About

Tammy began her music journey at the tender age of 4. A passionate pianist and aspiring pedagogue. Tammy is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music Performance with Honours at Royal Northern College of Music. Often praised as a sincere performer, Tammy has performed and received awards from multiple festivals and competitions. Her achievements include prizes from 2019 Singapore Raffles International Competition, 2018 and 2019 Singapore Performing Arts Festival as well as 2018 and 2019 Asia Arts Festival. She was also a star award recipient in the 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions of the Overseas Performers Festival for solo and duet categories. Tammy has also performed in an E- charity concert “On a Base Note” in 2020. As a versatile musician, Tammy is also a vocalist in both pop and classical genres.

Apart from performing, Tammy has a 5 years experience of teaching. She enjoys working in both individual and group settings, having worked as Yamaha JMC group class teacher previously. Seeing her students improve day by day, growing to become better musicians and people, continue to bring her a great deal of inspiration. Tammy believes that she is also constantly learning from her students, and that is one of the reasons why she loves teaching.

Teaching Style

I am a patient and motivating teacher that aims to nurture the love for music in my students. I always plan my lessons thoughtfully and prepare resources according to my student’s needs. I hope to create a healthy and supportive learning environment where students can grow musically.

I am able to teach students of all ages and I specialized in teaching young children. I am also familiar with the syllabus from different exam boards and have taught beginners to Grade 8 students.

Curriculum

We are so grateful and lucky to meet Ms Tammy as my son’s first piano teacher when we moved to Singapore.She was nurturing and paving the path for my kids to love and play piano. Her teaching is extraordinary and has great patient toward children.More importantly she encourage children to perform more so that children get more confidence. My children always looking forward to meet her for the next lesson.
