About
Freelance harpist based between Scotland and the North of Portugal. I work regularly as a with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra of Scotland and Scottish Opera and am one of the Harp Lecturers at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I have recently completed a Masters in Orchestral Performance at Conservatorium van Amsterdam and am now working as a performing musician and as a music and language tutor. I have also graduated with a Bachelors of Music Degree(Hons) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2019.
I work regularly across mainland Europe as well as in the United Kingdom and Ireland as a solo, chamber and orchestral player, performing classical recitals, in a jazz bands, pop group or in recording sessions.
As a passionate Community Musician, I have had pleasure of sharing my craft and enabling others to express themselves fully though music. I often works with people with additional support needs , young children and teenagers in schools, in veteran care homes for the elderly, hospitals and cancer treatment centers, in orphanages as well as in prisons.
Aside from my work as a harpist, I has also teach Portuguese to children and adults and led baby music workshops.
Teaching Style
I believe music can bring great happiness to a person's life and my teaching method is based on support, motivation, and making the students think, leading them to good results rather than directly giving them the key to get those. As so, playing an instrument is always associated with a sense of fulfilment, followed by an "I want more" feeling that makes you enjoy the process.
The way a lesson is planned is important and it needs to be full of the necessary information needed to achieve and improve the various skills and techniques, but also needs to be kept upbeat and interesting enough to hold the attention of each student. I always try to make my lessons enjoyable depending on the personal interests/preferences.
I have a flexible schedule and I will travel outside Glasgow, if travel expenses are covered.
