About

I am a current graduate student at Syracuse University pursuing a Master’s in
Voice Pedagogy. I received my Master’s in Vocal Performance from Kent State
University in 2024 and a B.A. in English Literature, with minors in both Music and
African and African American Studies from The Ohio State University in 2021.

I teach both voice (advanced) and piano (beginner), and as a vocalist myself, my
performance experience spans a wide range of genres from opera to
contemporary musical theatre. At Syracuse University, my graduate lecture
recital was titled “The Singer as Storyteller: Strategies for Stylistic and Technical
Challenges Across Genres” (December 2025). I have performed in several Opera
Productions at both Syracuse University and Kent State University, as well as a
vocalist for a cover band.

An aspiring music historian, I have specific research interests in the evolution of
Elvis Presley’s voice, the musicians who impacted and influenced his style, and a
broader interest in Memphis as a hotspot for vocalists across many genres. My
podcast, The Chronicles of the King, focuses on a research-based approach to
Elvis Presley’s legacy and Music History.

Teaching Style

I am a flexible and genre-crossing teacher. I love to teach all styles of singing and believe firmly in a positive reinforcement approach.
