I am a professional pianist, piano instructor and composer with over 15 years of classical piano training, a Master's degree in Composition (Distinction), and a Bachelor's degree in Music where I specialized in classical piano performance.
My background combines extensive classical training with a broad musical skill set that includes orchestration, harmony, music theory and contemporary styles. As a performer, composer and music producer, I have a deep understanding for music which I bring into my teaching to help students truly understand what they are playing beyond the notes.
I have performed solo recitals including a performance at Deptford Town Hall in London where I played pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven, John Cage, and William Grant Still. I have also played with ensembles such as voice, cello and piano trio, performing works by Mozart and Purcell.
Teaching Style
My lessons are friendly, structured and tailored to each student's goals, whether learning for enjoyment, building a solid foundation or preparing for exams.
I place strong emphasis on healthy technique, musicality and sight-reading, helping students develop confidence and independence at the piano. I adapt lessons to suit individual interests incorporating classical repertoire as well as pop, film music, jazz and other styles.
Curriculum
For beginners, lessons focus on building good habits in a clear and encouraging way. For more advanced students, I work on interpretation and musicality, tone, stylistic/historical awareness and deeper musical understanding. I also teach music theory alongside practical playing and support with ABRSM exam preparation if needed.Lessons are typically 60 minutes as this allows time for technique, repertoire and development, though shorter lessons (30/45 mins) are appropriate for young beginners.

I have experience teaching privately and have also covered sessions at a local music academy. I teach all ages and all levels, from complete beginners to advanced players. My first priority is always to create a safe, encouraging and fun learning environment. I have an enhanced DBS certificate issued in 2026.
