I teach piano through an intuitive, joy-centered approach that helps students recognize chords, intervals, and harmonic patterns directly from the layout of the keys. My method helps learners quickly connect theory to practice, using the natural design of the keyboard to unlock fluency and freedom.
As a concert pianist who has performed some of the most demanding repertoire ever written — and continues to take on new works with curiosity and depth — I understand what it takes to learn music at the highest level. I bring that same clarity and structure to helping beginners and returning pianists build their foundation the right way: not through endless repetition, but through insight, strategy, and joyful exploration.

Teaching Style
My teaching style is intuitive, attentive, and personalized. I approach each student as an individual — helping them develop not only technique, but a deep, personal connection to music. I emphasize pattern recognition, harmonic awareness, and musical curiosity, creating an environment where students learn to play expressively and intelligently. I balance structure with play, and always aim to make lessons joyful, challenging, and creatively fulfilling.
Curriculum
I guide students through a combination of ear training, chord and interval recognition, and repertoire that matches their goals and personality. I often use materials like Faber Piano Adventures for beginners, The Jazz Piano Book by Mark Levine for improvisation and harmony, and Henle or Peters editions for classical repertoire. For those pursuing opera or vocal collaboration, I customize materials based on the role or repertoire, often teaching directly from scores. My method emphasizes understanding over memorization — so students learn how to think and feel like artist pianists from the beginning.
