Tristan Chareyre
About
Guitarist for over 20 years and enriched by incredible experiences on stages in Spain, France, Switzerland, Morocco, and Italy, I love sharing music—both with the audience and with my students.
After completing my university studies (at the University of Maine in Le Mans, France) and earning a Master’s degree in Acoustic Research, I joined Eric Lavalette Guitar School (2011–2013) to further develop my skills in Blues. At the same time, I founded my own band, the BLUES SUSPECT BAND, with which we performed for seven years across the region of Toulouse. The experience as the band’s sole guitarist allowed me to refine my rhythm accompaniment skills and to express myself as a lead guitarist, giving a prominent place to improvisation during live performances.
After exploring different music styles such as blues, rock, and reggae, a desire for change and to deepen my musical and guitar knowledge led me to settle in Spain, where I went on to specialize in traditional flamenco, with its many styles (palos), its rhythms (compás), and its unique techniques that bring out that very distinctive guitar sound. Since 2019, I am based in Seville, where I have been able to join some of the best specialized flamenco schools such as the Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco (2019-2022) and Artes Escénicas Rebollar (2022-2023), and to benefit from the teaching of several flamenco guitar masters such as Paco Cortés, Pedro Sierra, Eduardo Rebollar, Salvador Gutiérrez, Miguel Salado, Manuel Montero…
At the same time, I had the opportunity to accompany numerous flamenco singing and dance classes in various academies, and to perform both in Spain and abroad, which allowed me to build solid professional experience. My most significant experiences include, for example, the participation in the Festival Flamenco Peñón de Algamitas (2023 and 2025), the off-festival of Toro y Salsa in Dax (2024), several months of flamenco shows in the Buddha Bar of Marrakech (2024) and tours in live music cafés in Switzerland (2023), Sardinia (2025) and France (regularly since 2022 until now).
For the past seven years, I've been happy to share my passion and knowledge with my students through in-person lessons or online via private teaching platforms such as Preply, Superprof, or TusClasesParticulares.
Teaching Style
With 7 years of experience as a teacher, I adapt my lessons to each student for optimal learning.
My classes are adapted to each person, according to their goals and the musical style that the students are willing to learn. As I always say: the most important thing is to enjoy playing the instrument in order to make the listener enjoy with you.
During the first lesson, we define the main areas of work and the methodology to put in place in order to reach your goals and fully develop your potential.
How many times have you studied a video or online tutorial and felt that something was missing? Or that the technical difficulty seemed overwhelming? Or that you managed to reproduce the music but without really understanding it from a harmonic point of view?
With my guidance, you will gain a deeper awareness of technique, rhythm, music theory, and above all, of the instrument itself. All of this will help you feel freer when studying a piece or composing your own music.
Curriculum
The course is designed for students from beginner to advanced level, and offers a fun and engaging way to approach all the essential elements of flamenco practice:
- rhythm (with the different types of compás related to each palo)
- the characteristic techniques of flamenco guitar and their application through falsetas or exercises (rasgueos, arpeggios, thumb technique, tremolo, ligado, picado, …)
- the harmony of the different flamenco toques
- accompanying the singing, with its keys and codes
- recursos for accompanying both singing and dance

In just a few months, he has already taught me so much (learning a soleá and a tango, plus additional exercises to develop finger strength).
