About

I am a dedicated violin/bowed strings teacher with experience working with students of all ages and levels. My approach centers on building a strong technical foundation through proper posture, bowing, intonation, and tone production.

I create personalized lesson plans tailored to each student's needs, focusing on clear, step-by-step progress. My teaching style emphasizes making learning fun and engaging while developing musical expression and confidence. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine advanced skills, I aim to help students enjoy the journey and feel accomplished in their playing.

Let's make music together. I look forward to working with you!

Teaching Style

My lessons are student-centered, structured, and goal-oriented. I focus on:

  • Proper violin posture and technique
  • Tone production and bow control
  • Music reading and rhythm
  • Scales and repertoire development
  • Confidence-building through performance pieces

I tailor lessons to each student’s pace and goals, whether they are complete beginners or advancing students seeking stronger technique and musical expression.

Curriculum

My teaching method is structured, patient, and student-centered. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s age, level, and personal goals, whether they are learning for school, orchestra participation, exams, or personal enjoyment. I emphasize correct posture, bow hold, left-hand technique, tone production, rhythm, and musical expression from the very beginning. Lessons typically include warm-up exercises, technical work, repertoire study, sight-reading, and guided practice strategies to help students practice effectively between lessons.

For beginners, I focus on building a strong technical foundation and music reading skills in a gradual and encouraging way. Intermediate and advancing students work on scales, shifting, vibrato development, articulation, and more advanced repertoire. I also help students prepare for performances, auditions, school concerts, and ensemble playing. Parents receive regular feedback on progress, and students are encouraged to set short-term and long-term goals.

Recommended Student Texts and Materials

Depending on the student’s level and learning needs, I commonly use:

  • Suzuki Violin School (Books 1–4) for structured beginner and early intermediate development
  • Essential Elements for Strings (Violin) for note reading, rhythm, and ensemble skills
  • Wohlfahrt Op. 45 Studies for technical development at the intermediate level
  • Hrimaly Scale Studies for scale and finger pattern work
  • Selected classical repertoire and folk pieces appropriate to the student’s level

Supplementary exercises, scales, and digital sheet music are also provided as needed. For online lessons, I use screen sharing, demonstrations, and practice assignments to ensure students remain engaged and make consistent progress.
