About

I’m Vanessa, an award-winning actor, voice actor, and singer with over a decade of experience in performance and teaching. My work spans commercials, video games, animation, e-learning, film and television, as well as live and recorded singing.

Before focusing on private coaching, I taught music, choir, and drama at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels. Over the past five years, I’ve coached students in acting and voice over, guiding them through audition prep, on-camera performance, and voice acting for games, animation, and commercials. My students have praised me for creating a fun, supportive environment that helps them take creative risks and grow quickly.

Teaching Style

My approach is practical and playful rooted in real industry practice while keeping lessons engaging and encouraging. I love helping beginners discover their creative voices and supporting advanced students as they refine their skills for auditions or professional opportunities. Whether you’re stepping up to the mic, camera, or stage, I’ll help you feel confident, authentic, and ready to shine.

Curriculum

My teaching method is rooted in my Meisner training, emphasizing presence, connection, and authentic behavior under imaginary circumstances. I also draw on my experience as a professional actor, singer, and voice actor to give students practical tools they can apply immediately — whether on stage, on camera, or behind the mic. Lessons balance industry insight with play, so students can build technique while staying creative and confident.

For students who like to supplement their lessons with reading, I often recommend:

  • The Actor’s Art & Craft by William Esper with Damon DiMarco (a clear, modern introduction to Meisner technique)

  • Finishing the Hat by Stephen Sondheim (insights into lyric writing, performance, and creativity)

  • Born in a Fatal Car Crash …And Other Dramatic Entrances by Steve Eastin (a candid and inspiring reflection on acting and life)

  • The Art of Voice Acting by James Alburger (a comprehensive guide for aspiring voice actors)
