About

As a conservatory-trained trombonist and fourth-generation musician, I currently serve as Lead Trombonist of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. I earned my Bachelor of Performing Arts at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan (2019–2025), and my performing career includes orchestral, solo, and chamber work at major international venues such as Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), Philharmonie de Paris, Kölner Philharmonie, Dubai Opera, Royal Opera House Muscat, and Konzerthaus Berlin. I also collaborate regularly on tours, recordings, and festival projects, and I am a co-founder and trombonist of the Brass Quintet, performing a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire.

Alongside performing, I’m deeply committed to teaching. I have taught private trombone and tuba lessons since 2021, working primarily with late-teen and adult students, and I served as a Teaching Associate (Trombone) at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan (2024–2025), supporting undergraduate and graduate instruction and performance preparation. My lessons focus on building strong fundamentals-breath control, sound and tone production, articulation, slide technique, range, and endurance-while connecting technique to real music-making through repertoire, style, and interpretation. I also help students prepare for exams, conservatory entrance auditions, orchestral excerpts, and performances with structured practice plans and clear weekly goals.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is structured, supportive, and goal-oriented. In the first lesson, we clarify what you’re working toward—stronger fundamentals, better sound and endurance, orchestral excerpts, audition prep, or a specific piece—and I build a clear plan around that target. Each lesson includes a focused warm-up, targeted technical work, and musical application, so you’re always connecting technique to real playing.

I emphasize the fundamentals that make everything easier: breath and airflow, tone and resonance, efficient slide technique, clean articulation, and smart range/endurance building. You’ll leave each lesson with clear weekly assignments and a practical practice routine. For auditions and exams, we work from a timeline, break repertoire into measurable steps, and use mock auditions and recording-based feedback to build confident, consistent performance. When useful, we also connect what you’re playing to theory and ear training—so you understand the music, not just the notes.
