Sometimes fingerspelling the word with the plural English ending for the word is another way to pluralize for clarity, especially signs over the body that indicate a role or title: "King (ASL sign of a K from shoulder to opposite hip as a sash) of Kings (fingerspell kings). That is done similarly when a sign has two meanings such as "He found gold (ASL sign for gold) in California (fingerspell Calif).

Victoria is phenomenal! I believe her college professors would be truly proud, or perhaps envious, of her skill level. She loves teaching ASL and it shows. She has immersed herself in the very secluded deaf community and returned to share her respect, knowledge, and abilities with her students. ASL is a visual language with so many nuances, and the grammar is very different from English (which is my weakness- rearranging my grammar in my head, and then translating from spoken words to signs and mouth morphemes), but Victoria is kind and patient. She offers helpful explanations and fun mnemonics which make learning easy and even natural. She allows you to set your own learning goals and pace, so that you can achieve them without pressure/stress. I think we all wish our foreign language teachers in HS were not only this capable, but rather proficient. Aside from reading reviews, I recommend watching some of the posted teaching videos, of multiple teachers that you are considering. Everyone has different learning styles, and not all teachers can adjust. I am very happy that I found Victoria. I myself, am a volunteer online facilitator (for an organization that works and advocates for Special Needs individuals) and I hope that I can provide as positive an impact as Victoria has done for my journey into deaf culture.

I started taking private ASL classes with Victoria 2.5 years ago so I could better communicate with a Deaf friend. Victoria keeps the classes fun, engaging, and informative. I've learned so much! Victoria is a patient and encouraging teacher, and is always happy to explain things again if I forget or need further clarification. Her warm and friendly teaching style has created a really comfortable learning environment for me so I always look forward to classes! My friend and I are able to communicate easily in ASL. We've done several overnight trips together where we're signing constantly. Even her family were surprised that I've only been learning for a couple years because I could sign with them too. I know I have a way to go before I'll be fluent but I've established a really strong foundation in ASL and feel comfortable interacting with Deaf people in their native language. I highly recommend taking classes with Victoria. You'll get a knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, and dedicated teacher who will make learning really enjoyable but also effective!

I had a difficult time deciding on a teacher in the past on here because of early reviews people had after only one lesson. I decided to wait until I took all 10 of my one hour lessons with Victoria to give my insight. It has been a great experience me, and whether you are a little experienced with Deaf culture and sign language, or know absolutely nothing, I know you will benefit from taking classes with Victoria. I have felt my confidence communicating with Deaf people increase and I can feel that I am getting better each week. It has been great being able to go at (what I consider) a fast pace and not having to go at the slower pace of a large class, while still getting the attention to detail and ensuring that I am understanding and following the correct grammar and signs. I recommend that, while you take classes, you practice and put in work outside of that time so you can benefit even more from her lessons. I'm already looking forward to the next 10 lessons and hopefully more!

I take group lessons online. I absolutely love taking lessons with Victoria. She makes class fun and is great with seeing how fast or slow she needs to teach each lesson. She goes out of her way to answer any questions you have and she makes you feel comfortable to ask them! Out of all the interpreters I have tried. She is the best by far! If she can get me involved in group classes. Can you imagine what she could do one on one? Try her out on the free group lessons and you will see what I mean. You wont regret it!

After the first session with Victoria, my daughter was much more confident about her ASL homework assignments and her signing abilities. She often felt that the teacher in her class would be frustrated or annoyed when she asks her to sign more slowly. The teacher would sign too fast for her to understand and she felt lost. Victoria reassured my daughter that she was doing fine and that it is hard for any beginner to learn in a “voice off” class. Victoria was patient, supportive and knowledgeable. We look forward to future sessions!

Victoria really helped my daughter feel more confident and positive about learning ASL after one session. She helped to reinforce signs that aren’t clearly presented in class. My daughter often feels that her teacher gets annoyed when she asks her to sign more slowly and felt embarrassed in class. Victoria is able to identify how to help my daughter and does so in an encouraging and uplifting way! My daughter feels more positive about learning ASL, now. We look forward to future sessions.

Victoria is a great instructor. I work in the dental field and wanted to sign with patients. Victoria was able to focus our lessons on information I needed while also teaching basic ASL. Strongly recommend.

I have taken a few ****** classes (covering vocabulary relating to holidays, months, animals, and weather) with Victoria and have enjoyed them immensely. I have learned a great deal. In particular, I found it very helpful how she encourages the students to put the vocabulary/topics covered in the lessons into practice at the end of the classes. Having the students communicate with one another, using the vocabulary/topics that have been introduced, is an excellent way to reinforce what has been covered during the lessons.

My daughter is 6 and has been interested in taking sign language class for a while. After her trial session she was very excited to learn. The 1st lesson was good. My daughter wasn’t as focused initially, however, Victoria was patient and was able to get her back on task easily. We can’t wait for the next class!

I wanted to learn ASL to help me talk to patients in medical emergencies. I had no previous knowledge of ASL, and by the end of my first lesson, I was already learning practical phrases that I could use during my day. Victoria is GREAT at mixing general knowledge and signs and focusing on what I specifically need to learn for work! She has experience with medical interpreting and it's exactly what I needed.
