About
Online Belly Dance (Raqs Sharqi) lessons for total beginners.
Clear technique, posture, and step-by-step combos — so you feel progress from the first week.
I’m a belly dance (Oriental dance) instructor and choreographer with a strong performance and teaching background. I’ve been training since 2006 and have placed and won at Ukrainian championships both as a solo dancer and as part of a group.
I began teaching in 2012, working with children and adults at a sports club in Dnipro, Ukraine. In 2016, I opened my own dance studio, Malyna, also in Dnipro, where belly dance was my main speciality.
Over the years I’ve trained 100+ students, and many of my students have become prize-winners and national champions in Ukraine. Since 2019, I’ve also served as a belly dance judge in Ukraine, evaluating technique, musicality, performance quality, and choreography. I’ve organized concerts and student showcases as well — from planning and rehearsals to stage presentation.
Now I’m based in the UK and teach online students worldwide.
How you can train with me (online):
• Free 30-minute Trial (Assessment Session): we’ll check posture and basics, clarify your goals, and I’ll give you a simple starter plan.
• Private 1:1 lessons (60 minutes): personalised coaching, clean technique, faster progress.
• Small group classes (3–5 students): structured beginner foundations + combinations + stretch, with a supportive vibe.
If you’re not sure where to start, book the free assessment, and I’ll recommend the best next step for you.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is structured, supportive, and detail-focused. I guide you step-by-step, keep instructions clear, and help you build confidence quickly without feeling overwhelmed.
I teach technique first (clean basics, safe alignment, and musicality), but we always apply it right away in a short combination – so you feel like you’re actually dancing, not just drilling.
Expect a positive atmosphere, gentle corrections, and a clear plan from lesson to lesson.
Curriculum
Teaching Method
My lessons follow a consistent structure: warm-up and mobility (including neck and foot/ankle work), technique breakdown, counted drills, a short combination, and a cool-down stretch.
For beginners, we focus on posture, hip slides, hip accents, pelvic twist control, basic shimmy preparation, and simple body waves — then we connect everything into beginner-friendly combinations and gradually build a routine.
In every class we include a simple body wave and beginner-friendly shimmy prep, taught safely and progressively.
Lesson format (60 minutes)
• Warm-up (neck, shoulders, hips, feet/ankles) + posture setup
• Technique drills (hips, arms, transitions)
• Short combo (so you can “dance” what you learned)
• Cool-down + stretching
What students need
A small clear space, stable internet, and a device with a camera. A hip scarf is optional (it helps you see the movement).
Recommended practice
10–15 minutes, 2–3 times per week. I’ll tell you exactly what to repeat between lessons.
Music
I use music during class for timing and feel. If audio is ever tricky online, I can count the rhythm clearly, and I’ll share the track name after class.
