About

I am a multi-instrumentalist with over 6 years of teaching experience and more than 10 years of performance experience in orchestra, chamber music, and as a soloist. I hold a Licentiate of Trinity College London degree in Violin and Piano Performance and have received numerous awards in piano and violin competitions. These include the IPPA Gold Medal in Piano. I can help you improve your performance on piano, violin, cello, drum, koto or saxophone—whether you're preparing for a competition or simply looking to enhance your daily practice. My lessons blend traditional Japanese mentorship with Western pedagogical structure to create a dynamic, student-centered experience. Whether teaching koto, piano, or violin, I focus on:

Adaptive Repertoire: Customized exercises based on your goals—classical études, folk melodies, or modern fusion pieces.
Ear & Notation Balance: Develop sight-reading and improvisation skills (essential for cross-genre versatility).
Performance Prep: Confidence-building through mock performances, with feedback on expression and stage presence.

Screen-sharing for sheet music/notation software.
Real-time duets (I play accompaniment to your melody).
Culturally rich materials (e.g., Rokudan no Shirabe for koto, Suzuki method for violin).
