About

I’m Yacine Haboubi, a Tunisian musician and dancer with a lifelong connection to music. My journey began as a child, moving to the sounds of Michael Jackson and James Brown, which taught me how to deeply absorb rhythm, melody, and emotion. At just 11 years old, I began performing on stage, eventually reaching the semi-finals of Arabs Got Talent (Season 6, 2019) and winning several local MJ dance competitions. Alongside television appearances, these experiences helped me transition naturally from dance into music. Over the past five years, I’ve dedicated myself to singing, playing guitar and piano, and writing my own songs.

My formal training includes Jazz Piano, Singing, and Guitar lessons (2020–2025) with both local and international teachers. I’ve participated in masterclasses such as Multiplicity of Approaches with saxophonist Bo Van der WerfJazz Harmony with guitarist Hedi Fahem, and Rhythm with pianist Wajdi Riahi—many of whom I’ve had the pleasure of performing alongside. My stage experience spans countless concerts and festivals, including the AKDT Summer Academy in Belgium (2024) as a scholar guitarist/singer, and the Monastir Jazz Festival (2022–2025) as a pianist, guitarist, and dancer with the Monastir Jazz Club at the Conservatory of Monastir.

In addition to performing, I’m passionate about teaching. I’ve been offering private music and dance lessons to both children and adults across Tunisia for several years, focusing on guitarmusic theory, and dance. My approach blends technical skills with musical expression, helping students not only improve their abilities but also connect emotionally with the music they create. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with students from all over the world here on Lessonface.

Teaching Style

My teaching is all about learning through playing. I believe that once a song is truly mastered, it unlocks so many other skills: better rhythm, stronger harmonic understanding, improved technique, dynamic control, personal interpretation, improvisation concepts, and—most importantly—listening deeply in order to truly feel the music. This approach has proven to take students from complete beginners to confident players in an ideal amount of time.

For guitar lessons, we’ll work on songs chosen together—some from your own preferences, some I’ll recommend to challenge and inspire you. Along the way, we’ll explore soloing approaches (with a focus on Blues/Rock influences), build music theory knowledge by breaking down harmony from the basics to more advanced ideas, and analyze both Pop and Jazz tunes to strengthen your ear and creativity.

For dance lessons, I focus on styles like 70s disco & funk, and 80s–90s new jack swing—often using James Brown’s signature moves and Michael Jackson’s most iconic choreographies as learning tools. Whether you want to groove for fun or add flair to your performances, you’ll gain coordination, musicality, and stage presence. I’m always open to adapting lessons to my students’ goals, so if there’s something specific you want to learn, we’ll make it happen.
