Ye Jin Goo
About
I am a passionate orchestral musician and freelance teacher based in Columbus, Ohio, where I enjoy performing with the Columbus Symphony and working toward my Doctoral degree at the University of Cincinnati. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from the Eastman School of Music, as well as a Master's degree and Performance Diploma from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. I love sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for music with my students!
Teaching Style
My lessons are tailored to meet each student's unique goals, whether you're a complete beginner looking to produce sound on the violin or viola or an advanced player aiming to master pieces like those by Paganini. I provide personalized practice methods and step-by-step guidance to help you achieve your objectives. Additionally, I emphasize the importance of music theory alongside instrumental instruction, enabling students to develop a deeper understanding of music, enhance their listening skills, and improve their performance on the violin or viola.
Curriculum
I primarily utilize the Suzuki method as a foundational resource for beginners. For more advanced students, I integrate diverse teaching strategies that emphasize technical proficiency. If you are interested in refining your technical skills to perform the music you are passionate about, I would be pleased to support you in reaching your objectives.
