About

Bonnie has been teaching for over 25 years in both piano and oboe and has taught students on-line over 10 years through Skype and various on-line sites. She also enjoyed serving as a licensed Kindermusik teacher privately and at the School of Creative Arts in Lexington, Massachusetts, where she also taught oboe and piano.

Bonnie has performed in various groups for over the past years, including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Tampa Symphony, as well as with various chamber ensembles. She has served as a piano accompanist and teacher throughout these years as well. Currently living in the Orlando area, Bonnie has most recently performed regularly for such venues as Universal Studios, Orlando Museum of Art, Morse Museum in Miami, and at the Winter Park Art Festival, among others.

Bonnie’s oboe and piano music recordings can be found on CD Baby, iTunes, and Spotify, among others, featuring different styles of music, including pop, jazz, and rock along with her original works.

Teaching Style

Bonnie has been successful teaching both beginners and more advanced students. For her past students she has always been open to both strict classical training or a more informal pop music direction, depending on the interest of the individual student. School band students enjoy getting help their concert music and solo and ensemble pieces.

In 2012 she created a fun, new beginning piano curriculum: The Pantely Piano Book Series. This Series begins with colorful animals in place of notes, easily transitioning to regular note-reading by the conclusion. The Series, which includes four piano books, has been enjoyed and recommended by students and teachers nationally for over 10 years. In 2016 the Series was featured in the Music Teachers National Association Magazine, of which Bonnie has been a member. She also uses a variety of other curricula as needed.
