Zack Van Meter

Hello! My name is Zack, and I’m a professional musician and guitar instructor with over 10 years of experience performing onstage and teaching the instrument I love. Throughout my career, I’ve played guitar for various bands across Florida at venues including Disney, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, the Orlando Magic Stadium, and Vans Warped Tour Orlando.

I specialize in rock music, but I also play and teach a range of styles, including Blues, Jazz, Fusion, Funk, Country, Metal, Classical, and Modern Fingerstyle. I’ve had the privilege of studying under legendary guitarists Rick Graham, Paul Gilbert, and Matthew Baynes, all of whom have greatly shaped my approach to music and teaching.

My passion for teaching began almost as soon as I picked up the guitar—I loved sharing every new thing I learned with those around me, and that enthusiasm still drives me today. I look forward to helping you learn, grow, and discover your own love of music!

The guitar can be an intimidating instrument for the beginner and an ever-expanding maze for the seasoned player. I want you to think about every time you practice as an adventure into a brave new world. By navigating your way through chords, scales, and music theory concepts, your world of music will expand.

My teaching method is guaranteed to get you playing the guitar and having fun in no time! I’ve created a step-by-step program that is tailored to each individual student. Whether you're a beginner who doesn't know where to start or have been playing for years and finally want to take your playing to the next level, I accept students at any level.

I'll give you all the tools you need to succeed, including jam tracks, chord & scale diagrams, and tablature. With my course, you will learn the notes on the guitar, chords, scales, strumming and picking techniques, music theory, ear training, modes, arpeggios, sweep picking, tapping, fingerstyle techniques, hybrid picking, effective practice routines, songwriting, and of course your favorite songs! Feel free to ask me anything!
