He has performed with a multitude of rock, funk and theatrical groups at legendary venues ranging from Club Stodola, Hideout, Schuba's and Park West in Chicago to the Silver Dollar, Horseshoe Tavern, Cameron House and Lee's Palace in Toronto. He toured the USA with several different bands and has played gigs on both coasts and a lot of points in between!
He toured the People's Republic of China as a percussionist with South Shore Symphony Orchestra in 2013-14.
Teaching Style
Zebulun studied drumming and percussion from childhood. He began in Concert Band and Orchestra learning reading and the basic rudimental techniques. He continued study in high school and added performances of original music with a rock band. As a young adult he was invited to participate in educational presentations in the Chicago Public Schools. He also taught at School of Rock in Chicago. He quickly built a full schedule of students and was promoted to Assistant Music Director. He co-directed performances of "Black Sabbath", "History of Metal", "Freedom Rock" and "U2". He assisted on "The Wall", "AC/DC", "Led Zeppelin", "80s", "The Doors", Southern Rock and Roots" and many others. Several of his students were chosen for School of Rock National All Stars and continue to play music professionally to this day! Today he teaches fundamentals to students of all ages whether they play traditional acoustic drums or an electronic kit. His lessons are custom designed to satisfy the goals of each individual student and creative exploration is encouraged. He recommends "Silentstroke" or "Muffle Head" drumheads and "Low Volume" or "Quiet Tone" cymbals for quiet at-home study.
