About

Hello! My name is Zoë García, and I am a classically trained soprano, and music educator. I hold a B.M. in Vocal Music Education from St. Olaf College, and am currently in my second year of M.M. in Classical Vocal Performance from CSUS Sacramento, studying with mezzo-soprano Julie Miller. I have experience in choral singing/conducting, performance, vocal pedagogy, piano, music theory, musicology, and other related fields. On the rare occasion that I am not singing, I enjoy dancing and creative writing. Sharing music with others is my greatest love, so it is a joy for me to work with all of you!

Teaching Style

My mission is to guide singers to gain foundational skills such as: music literacy, an increased understanding of the anatomy of the voice and vocal health, and development of breath support for healthy, legato singing. While my instruction is primarily rooted in classical techniques, I encourage students to explore a diverse range of musical genres, prioritizing music that ignites their enthusiasm. I recognize that singing can be a vulnerable and intimidating experience, so I strive to bring patience and positivity to each lesson. I am highly adaptable and responsive to the individual needs and aspirations of my students, endeavoring to provide varied support to accommodate diverse learning styles. Most importantly, I strive to help students find the love of music, and develop their own confident voice as a singer, artist, musical storyteller, and as a human being!

Credentials & Affiliations

I hold a Bachelor of Music in K–12 Vocal Music Education from St. Olaf College (2018–2022) and am currently pursuing a Master of Music in Vocal Performance at California State University, Sacramento (2024–2026). From 2022 to 2024, I served as a Music Teacher at Davis Waldorf School in Davis, California, where I taught 1st–8th grade general music and choir, fostering vocal development, musicianship, and a joyful, holistic approach to music-making. I currently teach at Camellia Waldorf School in Sacramento, where I work with 4th–8th grade choir, guiding students in ensemble singing, vocal technique, and expressive performance. In addition to my classroom teaching, I have maintained a private voice studio, Sing with Zoë Simone, since 2020 and began teaching as a Private Voice Teacher at Watermelon Music in January 2026. In recognition of my dedication to music education and student-centered teaching, I received the Mr. Rogers Teaching Award from St. Olaf College in 2022.
