About

I have been playing the flute for fourteen years and earned my Bachelor's in Flute Performance from the University of Georgia (Hugh Hodgson School of Music) in 2024. I am currently pursuing a Master of Music in Flute Performance at Indiana University Bloomington (Jacobs School of Music) under the tutelage of Dr. Pei-San Chiu.

Recently, I performed in the 2026 Zodiac Music Academy and Festival in Valdeblore, France, where I studied with Sergio Pallotelli. I also have experience with preparation and performance in competition settings- I was awarded first prize in the 2024 Charleston International Music Competition as well as the 2024 UK International Competition.

I have taught lessons regularly throughout my collegiate experiences, ranging from K-12 to adult students. In addition to private teaching since 2021, I was a flute instructor at the Lawrenceville-Suwanee School of Music from 2023-2025. I am comfortable guiding students towards any goal, whether it's gaining understanding of basic flute fundamentals or preparing excerpts/solo repertoire for performances and auditions.

Teaching Style

I believe in a flexible teaching style in order to meet my student's needs. I establish my feedback on a premise of honesty; knowing the strengths and weaknesses of one's playing is crucial to move forward and progress in playing level. I do my best to make my feedback as easy to understand as possible, and I encourage my students to openly communicate with me.

During my lessons, students can expect to learn from flute fundamental texts, etude books, and are welcome to bring any solo repertoire or excerpts they wish. When tackling solo repertoire, I always encourage students to study the music theory or any relevant history of the piece and its composer. As a teacher, I like to ask my students about their personal goals at the start of their first session. The direction of my lessons over time will be tailored to help students achieve their goals and gain a stronger sound.
