Brandon Bergeron
About
Hi!
My name is Brandon Bergeron and I am a trumpet player from Austin, TX. I am a recent graduate of The Juilliard School in Manhattan with both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in trumpet. I have a well rounded teaching background reaching back into my time in high school, and have taught many beginning/ high school level/ adult students. Playing both Jazz and Classical music, I can add a unique touch to lessons if a student has specific goals.
I also have been tutoring music theory for several years, and have been a teaching fellow for the past 2 years at Juilliard, teaching the entire core theory curriculum. I also have taught music theory in both the Pre-College and MAP preparatory programs at Juilliard. I am confident I can help you with any theory questions you have!
As a performer, I enjoy I diverse career performing classically with orchestras such as the American Classical Orchestra, the Garden State Philharmonic, and freelance groups around the New York area, as well as with several Jazz Bands at clubs such as Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center. I also perform early music on the baroque trumpet with various freelance groups around the city, such as the Orchestra of St. Luke's in the Fields, and Trinity Baroque Orchestra. Performing a wide variety of genres has always been important to me, and I hope to pass my love of all music on to students!
Teaching Style
I prefer to teach an hour lesson once a week, and balance my teaching between drills to build strength/technique, and music to apply what you are learning! There really is no secret to trumpet playing other than hard work and patience, and I am here to see you through to your goals!
