My son has been playing the cello for about 6 months in a Junior High Orchestra but he has been needing help catching up with the other students which have been playing for several years. After searching locally, we were unable to find a good teacher. Someone recommended an online teacher so we found Michelle online and had our 1st lesson. My son had many questions and concerned but Michelle went right to work helping him. I was surprised how much information she was able to cover in 30 minutes. She addressed many things such as his stance to music note applications for cello. She is an outstanding teacher from our experience. She also provided information on books to study to further his understanding to reach his goals of catching up with the high school students. One last thing to mention, it is important to keep students moving forward with a position disposition and Michelle did a fantastic job keeping a smile and uplifting toon throughout the lesson. Thank you for the help!

Michelle Teague is an excellent teacher! We asked her to teach 2 of us at each lesson—one beginner on cello and one more advanced on violin. I was hesitant about starting lessons again after high school, and even more about taking online lessons, but I've had a great experience so far!

I recently wanted to get back into playing the violin. Michelle was super helpful with sharing the books I could buy and helping me catch up on the basics. We typically meet weekly, but anytime I need to reschedule due to conflicts, she is super flexible! I've really enjoyed my sessions with her and she is super fun to work with!

After more than two years of enrolling in music classes at school, my son was considering quitting. He was not making progress with the cello and was obviously frustrated. We enrolled him in lessons with Michelle. With only a few weeks of lessons, he improved significantly. Michelle went back to the basics and helped him correct his technique. He is now much happier with the instrument. He even plays it occasionally beyond his daily required practice time. He also decided to continue with band at school. We are very pleased with the outcome of the lessons.

I've always wanted to take music lessons but instead always made sure my kiddos learned what I never got to. During quarantine, I decided to go for it and learn myself. I found Michelle here on ******. She was offering a great deal for new students! So on a whim, I purchased 12 lessons, rented a cello, got the books Michelle recommended, and started lessons two weeks later. I have learned a lot from Michelle! She is on time for lessons and pays attention to the details: how I'm holding my bow, how I'm sitting, and how holding the cello can be different for women ;). Take some initiative with your learning by communicating with Michelle what you are looking for, what your expectations are, what you want to learn, songs you would like to attempt and your lesson will meet your expectations! She aims to please, she is friendly and has stories to entertain and fill the voids if you want. The lessons have been well worth my time and $$. I've learned a lot!!

My daughter started taking lessons a few months ago as a beginner with Michelle and it has been wonderful. My daughter is a bit of an introvert and i was afraid that she would lose interest if she wasn't playing like a professional after a few weeks. Michelle has a high level of energy and is very patient. My daughter taught herself a bit of a popular song she liked and Michelle said she would help her learn more of it. My daughter had her first lesson today and loved Michelle! Michelle spent extra time and effort to get her acclimated to online lessons.

I have found Michelle to be a fantastic Cello instructor. I have learned so much from our lessons over the past year. I was a bit worried about virtual lessons, but that quickly passed. I have taken in person lessons at a local university with some very good instructors, but can honestly say I have learned the most about technique from Michelle. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Michelle has been teaching our daughter 100% online from the 1st lesson. We are so impressed that she was able to virtually teach my daughter on how to properly play her violin and make fantastic progress. Her school orchestra teacher was astonished at the affordability and success of the Michelle’s online teaching. While school has been out of session my daughter has continued to make significant progress and I know keeping her skills fresh will be less stressful for her when she returns to orchestra class. My daughter also feels positive about playing her violin and even practices on her own... without being prompted.

I think viola or violin is her specialty, and students would likely have a great instructor for those instruments. Cello instruction was not the best at the later-Intermediate stage. It was clear that she did not play the instrument (or not well), and was not aware of all the clefs.

Had my fifth lesson with Michelle today. It was so helpful. I was experiencing pain in my hand after practice and she helped me figure out what was wrong. Having a teacher help adjust positioning has been absolutely vital for me to learn cello. Also, she plays multiple string instruments and I really like that she has customized her teaching techniques for my lessons based on my prior experience with violin.

My daughter had several wonderful lessons. Michelle helped built her confidence level by being very positive and encouraging! I wasn’t sure how online lessons work (this was our first time) but I was pleasantly surprised on all the tips and advices given by Michelle, anywhere from the way to hold an instrument to how to find a note then playing a piece in sync. Convenience of not driving anywhere and having a lesson at our home is always a plus :)

The first 2 lessons my daughter had with Michelle were very good. She is very nice and fun and has an upbeat personality. By the third lesson, Michelle was still spending valuable lesson time reviewing my daughter's situation (name, music, schedule), allowed her own child to repeatedly interrupt, and was inconsistent with her facts (first saying a dotted half note was 3 counts and then saying a dot is worth 1/2 count, so a dotted whole note is worth 4.5 counts). 30 minutes is not a lot of time and I felt like it was wasted.

Teacher Michelle has been doing a great job with my 5 year old. She is very patient and smart. She knows how to teach it in a simplified manner for kids at a young age. She does the teaching in a fun way too. Worth having her as my child's first teacher in playing a musical instrument.

My daughter is five years old and Michelle does a good job relating to her. Michelle is very encouraging. I like the program she uses to help younger children learn how to read music. After my daughter’s lesson today she was so excited that she could read music. The only thing that would be better is if we could have lessons in person. We live in a rural area, so online lessons are sometimes our only option.

Attempted to establish lessons with this instructor. Drove from Greensboro to Reidsville 3 different times. First time no one answered at residence. Second time received call on the way advising could not meet for lesson and final time, no one at location. I can’t believe she was nervy enough to request a review. We finally found an instructor in Greensboro. Was a very frustrating encounter with an unprofessional tutor.

Having never personally met Michelle face to face, our online experience was more than expected. Our 7 children all benefited from having Michelle as our personal music coach. She was always available by phone and Skype if needed. My children learned to read music and to play by ear thanks to Michelle’s techniques. I would gladly recommend her for any family big or small.
