About
I have played music professionally for over 20 years in a host of bands, ensembles, studios, etc.. Currently, I reside just outside Nashville, Tennessee teaching, writing and recording music every day. Over the past several years, I have toured the world with country artist Drake White playing clubs, theaters, stadiums headlining and playing direct support for Zac Brown Band, Dierks Bentley, Little Big Town, Blackberry Smoke, Darius Rucker, Kip Moore and many others. I have played on Good Morning America as well as the Today Show.
Teaching Style
I've had some great teachers along the way but I never really had anyone in "the business" teach me some of the dos and don'ts as I was learning and finding my way. Therefore, I enjoy teaching because I want to help aspiring musicians with their journey and, hopefully, give them an edge in this highly competitive industry. My pro experience offers a valuable perspective that many "small town local music store" teachers can't.
I don't teach the boring scales repetition methods. Scales are important and will be taught but I feel it's more fun and inspiring to learn feel, pocket and tasteful playing skills at the same time you're learning the technical aspects. I can tailor the individual curriculum to each player's goals and proficiency.
