Sarah Halter
About
I'm Sarah Halter, the founder, songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist of Pittsburgh-based progressive/alternative metal band, Blue Clutch. I have been writing, performing, and recording music in Pittsburgh, PA since 2015. My band released our debut album, Silent Oblivion on October 4, 2019. I also have released a solo-acoustic EP in 2016 titled Little Grave Digger.
As a primarily self-made high quality musician in the Pittsburgh music scene and as a leader of an up-and-coming band in the music industry, I can provide students with lessons that will surely take them on a new journey of understanding, improved practice of craft, and tools that can help them reach high-level and even industry-standard performances.
Before booking lessons with me, I encourage you to preview my published works under my discography.

Teaching Style
I am an established and up-and-coming performing guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter offering one-on-one in person or online guitar lessons to students of all ages and all skill levels. I can teach acoustic guitar, electric guitar, voice, songwriting, music theory and more!
I specialize in rock and metal genres, but I can adapt my teaching methods to fit any style, genre, or musical interests depending on the student. I not only strive to teach students the proper techniques to developing guitar and vocal skills as efficiently as possible, I teach them how they can get the most out of their daily practice.
If students already have a background and experience playing or singing, I will teach them how to go even deeper into what they already know and improve their skills even more. If students are just starting learn how to play the guitar or sing, I will teach foundational exercises needed to build skill sets to take them to the next level.
I also have years of live and studio performance, and I am happy to share my experiences and give advice during lessons if students are preparing for such performances.
I am dedicated to provide students an interesting, accessible, professional, and most importantly a fun learning experience regardless of current skillsets.
Curriculum
I am open-ended about what resources and texts may be useful to a particular student as there are so many resources available. Once I get to know the student's goals, I can recommend some based on the student's current level, experience, and focus.
