About
I grew up in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and began my piano studies there at the age of 5. I have traveled to Europe for competitions and continued intensive piano training in Tashkent until I moved to NYC at the age of 15.
I have been teaching piano privately in NY for 16 years, and that is what brought me here. I have studied at Juilliard School for 3 years when I was still in high school. Afterward I got a Bachelor's degree in piano performance at SUNY Purchase College and then a Master's degree in Music Education from CUNY Lehman College in Bronx NY to become a NYS certified music teacher. I continue teaching privately at Allegro Music Studios in Malta NY and enjoy performing. I have taught students of all ages but my focus seems to be around k-12 students who are studying for NYSSMA and preparing for performances. I also teach a lot of beginners who are just starting out, both adults and children. My 16 years teaching span was at the Rye Arts Center in Westchester County NY and New Windsor Music Academy in New Windsor NY before I found Allegro Music Studio in Albany area.
Teaching Style
I prioritize student's choices of music but also encourage to follow a book at the beginning to go along with lessons. I teach Classical music, however, if a student is a beginner then they will start with Alfred's Basic course series.
I have won 1 st prize
-at the Great Neck Long Island Piano Competition while being a student in Juilliard School 2001
-SUNY Purchase College Concerto Competition 2007
-South Dakota Piano Competition 2007
