Curriculum
Beginners:
Dominika Dancewicz teaches traditional method, which involves developing fundamentals of the technique simultaneously with introducing reading music and elements of music theory. She is extremely focused on providing excellent fundamentals in posture, awareness of relaxation and usage of muscular structure and gravity in violin playing. The progress is very organic and it enforces constant focus on many elements necessary for developing flawless technique. With absolute beginners Ms. Damcewicz uses "Essential Elements" method book which very organically develops all these skills, gradually progressing to Suzuki Books, simple etudes (Wohlfahrt), drill exercises (Sevcik, Schradieck, etc), onto more broad repertoire (short concertos and concertinos, etudes by Kayser and Mazas), miniatures.
Intermediate and Advanced:
Dominika Dancewicz offers unprecedented insight into the in-depth development of technical and musical challenges in select repertoire. Whether you prepare a major concerto, caprice, sonata or a showpiece, you will get an immediate and detailed feedback, and help with any challenges. You will be also encouraged to perceive deeper and broader undertsanding of the music you are playing, incuding its narration, shape, impact. Prepare for a demanding, detail-oriented and objective listener who gives you a high-quality feedback and methods of practice. I also offer mock auditions for college audition preparation, as well as mock orchestra auditions.
