About
Samuel (Sami) Mills, an Indie electronic artist, born in Texas, raised a preacher’s kid in rural Kansas, is not what you might expect. Samuel grew up surrounded by diverse musical influences such as Gospel, Country, Hip Hop, Rock, R&B, EDM, and Classical. All of which come together in a unique blend that gives his music that unexpected kick. Samuel eventually left his small town and head for the big city, studying Music Production at Berklee College of Music for 2 1/2 years and finishing his degree at Oral Roberts University. Now he is based in Tulsa, pioneering new waves as part of the New Tulsa Sound.
Teaching Style
Samuel describes his music as Indie ElectroHouse with a splash of Neo-Soul. However Samuel has played professionally for 6 years with everything from outlaw country to gospel to electronic to rock.
Samuel recently released his Debut single, co-written with Emily Micheal released March 26th, 2020, as part of a bigger project coming late 2020 titled “Where I can Sleep”. Along with his debut single, Samuel has also released a debut music video in collaboration with Sterk Creative.
Curriculum
Music is like a language and like with any language immersion, practice, and just doing is how my teaching method is modeled. Alfred's, or bastion for adults are great supplementary Materials for that.
Credentials & Affiliations
Studied music production at Berklee College of Music for 2 1/2 years.
Finished at Oral Roberts University.
Have taught piano for over 6 years.
Has taught and worked with kids with learning disabilities and taught early childhood literacy for 8+ years.
