About

As a multi-instrumentalist, educator, and composer, I bring over a decade of performance experience and more than four years of dedicated teaching to my students. I began my musical journey at the age of three and picked up the saxophone at ten. My passion and dedication led me to earn a scholarship to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where I am completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies (2021–2025). At Oberlin, I was honored to be part of the Sonny Rollins Jazz Ensemble, commissioned by the legendary Sonny Rollins himself. With this group, I toured New York and Ohio, performing and leading educational masterclasses. During my time at Oberlin, I was also fortunate to study under jazz greats including Gary Bartz, Eddie Henderson, Gerald Cannon, Jamey Haddad, and Dan Wall. I was also featured as a guest artist with the band Moonglow at the CMC International Jazz Festival in Buffalo, NY, and performed at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, DC. I perform in a wide range of styles including jazz (combos and big band), funk/fusion, Brazilian, Cuban, Afro-Cuban, rock, folk, pop, and singer-songwriter genres. I teach alto, tenor, and soprano saxophone, clarinet, and flute, as well as jazz improvisation on any instrument, music theory, and composition (jazz, classical, and contemporary). My goal is to inspire curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of music in every student.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is all about catering to the individual needs and goals of each student. I believe that every student has unique aspirations and musical tastes, so I tailor my lessons specifically to them. Whether it’s jazz, classical, blues, funk, Latin, rock, or any other genre, I am dedicated to guiding students through the techniques and styles necessary to reach their musical ambitions.

I am patient and passionate about teaching at any level, from beginners to advanced students. My approach is not only to focus on technique but also to ensure that learning music is a fun and enjoyable experience. We will play songs that resonate with the student, making the learning process both rewarding and motivating. With a commitment to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, I strive to help each student unlock their full potential and find joy in their musical journey. I look forward to teaching you!

Curriculum

My teaching approach is centered on personalized lesson plans tailored to each student’s unique goals, learning style, and skill level. I use a variety of resources like lesson books, audio tracks, and custom written out exercises to create an engaging learning experience This individualized approach makes sure that every student receives the support, structure, and inspiration they need to grow as a musician.
