About

I hold my master's degree from Western University in London, ON, Canada, in Literature and Performance, and my BMus in History, Theory, and Critical Analysis from Wilfrid LAurier University in Waterloo, ON, Canada. I have been singing since I was a young child and am currently pursuing doctorate studies. When I was four, I also began playing violin, and I received my Grade 9 Royal Conservatory of Music certificate in 2015. I also hold my Grade 7 RCM certificate for piano. I have several years of teaching experience, in-person and online, privately (since 2019) and in schools such as Celina's String Studio (2022). I have been a regular substitute teacher as well, at institutions such as the Academy of Music, since 2022. I have taken the necessary courses to teach the Suzuki Violin Methodfor Books 1 and 2, and am planning to continue my education in this area.

As a performer, I have sung roles such as Arminda in Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera (Accademia Europa dell'Opera, 2019) and Romilda in Handel's Serse (Halifax Summer Opera, 2023). I have held choral scholar jobs with church choirs, singing in services and assisting with section leadership, since 2017, where I started with St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Kitchener, ON. I have also given four recitals: a third-year half-recital in 2019, a full first-year master's recital in 2021, a second-year master's recital in 2022, and a recital titled "Clouds" in 2023.

Upcoming projects include performances with Opera From Scratch in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in August 2024, directing a production of Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice (performance date TBA), and singing a concert on March 8, 2025, to celebrate International Women's Day.

Teaching Style

I believe in meeting students where they're at, working together to set goals that are both engaging and challenging. In my students, I aim to foster a curiosity and eagerness to learn, an ability to break down challenges, and the desire to share their creativity.

My goal as a teacher is ultimately to help students teach themselves, hoping that they will one day be able to be their own guide through careful listening and self-analysis. I hope to give students tools that they can take with them through not only their musical journey but also other areas of life.
