About

Calogero Hernández, a drummer from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, was born in 1995 and has been active in his hometown's music scene since 2016. He started his journey as a self-taught musician and, driven by a constant quest for growth, has participated in a wide range of projects across various genres, including funk, blues, polka, swing, rock, reggae, and hip hop.

He eventually focused on jazz after winning a scholarship to study at the "La Faro Jazz Institute," where he was mentored by some of Mexico City's most renowned musicians, including Agustin Bernal and Gabriel Puentes. He has also taken lessons from drummers such as Gregory Hutchinson, Ben Perowsky, and trumpeter Dave Douglas, among others. He is currently pursuing a degree in Jazz Studies at JazzUV in Xalapa, Veracruz.
