I want to help you achieve your musical goals, whether that means excelling in a school orchestra, improving technique, preparing for an audition, creating a reliable, enjoyable, and efficient practice routine, nourishing your innate musicality, learning the long time traditions of the double bass, diving into new repertoire, or whatever your double bass dreams might be!

I am adaptable when teaching since everybody learns differently and has different goals.  Typically, I will begin a lesson with some quick stretching, some technique/scale work, and then I will allow space for the student to play what they have been working on or go through what would like to learn, or focus on a specific issue they want to comb through.  I will end the lesson with reviewing what to work on in their practice.  It is important to me that we can work together to keep lessons engaging, challenging, and rewarding without crossing the line into toxic perfectionism.  I am always open to feedback if there are changes in lesson style that would help you!
