Teaching Style

Please have a glance below at some FAQs about my teaching!  If you have further questions about my teaching, don't hesitate to write me!

Q: What is your teaching style?  A: My top goal for you is that you enjoy your cello journey for as long as humanly possible! To this end, I'll cover all the essentials for you to move you ahead in your technique, so that you enjoy the music YOU really want to play. Along the way, I will suggest repertoire I think may be good for your development and enjoyment. All this said, please just be yourself in the lessons!  You are unique and deserve the best!

Q: I would like a more relaxed technique, free of discomfort - is that really possible?  A: Yes - you've come to the right person! A physically pleasing experience while playing cello is essential to your enjoyment of the instrument. I have developed and given my own workshops, called Cello Zen, to achieve more comfort and enjoyment while playing.

Q: How can you help me improve my sound production and tone quality?  A: I've taught online for so long already that I will help you develop a singing sound with the all the possible dynamic shadings.

Q: What is the difference playing in the styles of baroque, classical, romantic, and contemporary?  A: My success comes from having mastered each of these styles, because I worked with experts in these areas over my career and have performed in literally hundreds of solo and chamber music concerts and recordings. I have also been the principal cellist of outstanding professional orchestras throughout my career.
