Tess Primack
About
Tess is an American Actress and Soprano. She made her Broadway debut in the Bartlett Sher revival of Fiddler on the Roof and originated the role of “Mother” in the World Premiere of The Enlightenment of Percival Von Schmootz, the new musical by Kooman & Dimond. She recently debarked the Disney Magic as their featured Broadway Guest Artist performing as Mother Gothel in Tangled: The Musical.
She received rave reviews in The New York Times for her stand-out performance in Einstein’s Dreams with the Prospect Theatre Company as well as great acclaim for her performance of Emma Carew in Jekyll & Hyde opposite Diana DeGarmo and Constantine Maroulis, directed by Robert Cuccioli. Additional musical theatre credits include Oliver!, The Secret Garden, and Mozart: Her Story.
In regards to teaching...
Tess is the Co-Founder of Broadway From Home, a virtual theatre classroom that has been featured on Fox, NBC, and has students from around the world.
She coaches students privately in audition technique, college audition prep, scene study, and acting a song.
This year my students have been accepted to the BFA/ BA programs at Boston Conservatory, NYU, Emerson, Northwestern, and Muhlenberg. One got the lead in her university’s Chekhov production and starred in a film, one won first place at the NATS competition, one starred in her middle school musical, and one starred in his high school one- act play series!
Every single student I have privately taught has returned to me for multiple lessons, and most for multiple years.
Teaching Style
I cater our lessons to whatever you are needing! Some of my students will bring in material for an audition or callback, some students need college monologues (I specialize in finding material for students), and some just want to work on confidence through fun audition scenes I provide from popular musicals and tv shows.
Curriculum
I was trained at Carnegie Mellon University and got my BFA in Drama, so I work a lot using the Stanislavski technique, as well as occasionally laban and viewpoints.
