Curriculum

My teaching method is a blend of structured learning and creativity. I focus on building a strong foundation in technique and theory while ensuring that lessons are engaging and enjoyable. I believe in the importance of musical development through a mix of traditional and modern approaches.

  1. Foundational Skills:

    • For both piano and voice, I emphasize proper technique from the start, including posture, hand position, breath control, and vocal support.
    • Scales, exercises, and technique drills are integrated to help improve dexterity, strength, and accuracy.
  2. Music Theory:

    • I incorporate theory into lessons in a practical way, helping students understand what they’re playing or singing, rather than just memorizing.
    • Topics like rhythm, harmony, and sight-reading are introduced progressively, making the student a well-rounded musician.
  3. Repertoire:

    • I use a combination of classical, pop, jazz, and contemporary pieces, depending on the student's interest and skill level. This keeps the lessons both challenging and exciting.
    • For vocal students, I also introduce vocal warm-ups and ear training exercises to enhance pitch accuracy and range development.
  4. Performance and Expression:

    • I focus on interpretation, dynamics, and emotional expression, helping students bring their own voice and personality into their music.
    • We work on performance skills to prepare students for recitals, exams, or auditions.
  5. Practice Techniques:

    • I teach efficient and effective practice techniques to make the most out of each practice session.
    • By setting specific practice goals, I ensure students are steadily progressing between lessons.
