Chiara Pezzotti
About
I'm Chiara Pezzotti, a singer, a vocal coach, a musictherapist and a pedagogist.
I have enriched my professional development through various specialized courses, including a 150-hour course in vocal pedagogy and music education for both early childhood and senior learners. I also hold a Modern Singing Diploma from the Nuova Audio Music Media in Milan, obtained in 2006, where I developed performance skills in singing, music theory, and stage behavior. My education journey began with a high school diploma in scientific studies, completed in 2002 at Liceo Galileo Galilei in Erba.
In 2011, I obtained a Diploma in Music Therapy from the Art Therapy Center in Lecco, following a three-year course of 1,671 hours that combined theoretical and practical studies in music, psychology, and therapy. My research centered on the emotional impact of singing in music therapy. I also pursued advanced education in music learning, completing the AIGAM National Course on Edwin Gordon’s Music Learning Theory for children aged 0-6 between 2017 and 2018. This training provided deep insights into child development, vocal education, and the informal guidance of musical learning.
I completed a Master’s Degree in Pedagogical Sciences at the University of Bergamo in 2023, achieving the highest grade of 110/110 with honors. My thesis explored the use of music and singing as tools to relate to the experiences of migrants in educational and school settings. Prior to this, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Educational Sciences at the same university in 2012, with a final grade of 102/110. My thesis focused on music education in early childhood, examining methods and techniques for sound education.
Teaching Style
We will cover theory and practice on breathing, posture, support, vocal technique, repertoire study, and microphone technique.
We will work on rhythm and pitch to help manage live vocal performances effectively.
The whole body will be used in coordination with the voice, promoting mental and physical well-being. Studying singing is an excellent way to improve skills while working on relaxation and the integration of voice and body—abilities that can also be valuable in other areas of personal and professional life.
You will learn how to build a personal repertoire that suits your vocal characteristics, and musical practice will have great benefits on attention, concentration, linguistic, cognitive, and creative learning.
You will get accustomed to managing anxiety and stress, which can be beneficial in other contexts as well.
Studying singing is a pedagogical and educational journey that will develop each person’s abilities, respecting individual pace, but only if you are willing to challenge yourself and practice regularly to achieve the micro-goals that we will agree upon together.
Curriculum
For each student, I design a personalized program based on their initial abilities, personal inclinations, goals, and the time they have available for lessons and practice.
