Karina Magallon

 Karina Magallón is a bilingual music educator dedicated to inspiring and connecting people through the power of music and culture. Originally from Houston, TX, and now based in Los Angeles, CA, her teaching is enriched by her experience as an artist and her formal music education.

Growing up in a Panamanian-American household, Karina developed a deep appreciation for both Latin and American pop music, which shaped her unique musical style. She holds a degree in music from Belmont University in Nashville, where she had the opportunity to perform with renowned artists such as Sheryl Crow, CeCe Winans, Michael W. Smith, and The Tenors as part of the Belmont Choir.

Karina’s professional achievements include recognition as a finalist in prestigious competitions like the Glenn Miller Scholarship, Grammy U Songwriter Showcase, and USA Songwriting Competition. Her accomplishments extend to semi-finalist placements in the International Songwriting Competition and the Unsigned Only Competition.

Her extensive performance experience spans venues such as The Hotel Cafe, LA County Fair, Soho House LA, The Mint LA, and many more. She has also performed the national anthem at an LA Clippers game in Crypto Arena and appeared on platforms like Vision Latina TV's Mañana Latina and the Wish Bus USA radio show in Hollywood.

Karina’s teaching philosophy is shaped by her hands-on involvement in the creative process as an artist and songwriter. Known for her vibrant energy, vocal agility, and positive spirit, she brings a dynamic and inspiring presence to the classroom, aiming to nurture creativity and a love for music in her students.

I offer a unique, hands-on approach to music teaching that combines my professional experience with a love for creativity. With years in the industry, I make learning music engaging and accessible, whether you’re just beginning or refining your skills. My specialties include voice (in both classical and contemporary styles), as well as beginner to intermediate piano, ukulele, and beginner guitar lessons. I tailor each lesson to individual goals, making it easy and enjoyable to connect with music. I’m passionate about helping students grow, and I’m confident we can achieve fantastic musical results together!
