Michelle Obrien

I began piano teaching in 2018 and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music from the Lamont School of Music in 2022. With a deep-seated passion for music, I thrive on sharing my enthusiasm with my students, crafting lessons that blend music theory and technique in a personalized way. I have 7 years of teaching experience including Grace Music School 2018 - 2020, Colorado Music Institute 2020 - 2022, and the Lamont Piano Preparatory Program from 2024 - present. 

Relaxed and fun! My approach is designed to inspire and engage, making music education accessible and enjoyable for anyone eager to learn. I am dedicated to nurturing my students’ musical growth and helping them discover the joy of making music. I typically use method books within my lessons and supplement them with additional music. I also use the Kodály Method to teach rhythm and incorporate scale exercises within each lesson.

My overall goal as a teacher is to help students become better musicians by having a strong foundation in note-reading, and music theory.
