Graham Strach
About
Graham has been teaching guitar since 2015. In that time he's worked with hundreds of students of varying ages and experience levels. Also an accomplished performing musician, Graham has been performing live in bands since 2013, appearing in Festivals and touring in cities across Western Canada. In 2024 Graham completed his Diploma in Music from Macewen University, in Edmonton, Canada.
Teaching Style
Graham prefers to teach students through songs. You will gain new skills on guitar simply by going through how to play contemporary songs, specifically selected for various teachable components.
Curriculum
Most songs for adults will be taught using tabs. Students will have free access to song material from Songsterr or Ultimate Guitar.
If a more theory oriented approach, or sight reading is a skill desired, the Hal Leonard guitar method book 1 will also be used.
Credentials & Affiliations
Graham has been teaching private guitar lessons since 2015. From 2015 - 2021 He taught at the Turner Guitar Studio in Leduc Canada. After moving to Edmonton Canada, he began teaching privately from home in 2021. Graham has taught weekly lessons to over 300 students in that time.
In 2023 Graham graduated from Macewan University with a Diploma in Contemporary and Jazz Music, majoring in Guitar. His education also included Music technology courses, which he uses in recording and audio engineering. On top of teaching music lessons, Graham is active in the local Music scene, mixing shows at venues such as The Starlite Room, The Aviary, and The Buckingham, while also producing albums for local bands.
Graham has been an active member of the rock band, Re-form, since 2013. In this time he's recorded and released multiple albums of music. The band has also played notable festivals in Canada such as Winteruption and Edmonton's Hi-Light Festival, appearing at the Starlite Room.
