About
In addition to being a native English speaker, I have a doctorate in Applied Linguistics and a master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City. My English-language teaching experience includes 2 years teaching 6th- and 7th- grade students as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia, 4 years teaching 3rd grade as a classroom teacher for the New York City Department of Education, and a year as an adjunct professor and lecturer at Bergen Community College (Paramus, New Jersey) and for the City University of New York. I also have over 15 years of experience developing large-scale standardized language assessments, including the TOEFL and TOEIC tests. I also enjoy learning other languages myself.
Teaching Style
I am happy practicing idiomatic English conversation, but I also specialize in academic and professional writing skills.

Classes are tailored to individual student needs and interests.
