About

Sharon Gulla is a violin teacher and performer residing in the Lehigh Valley. She spent her formative years learning Russian playing technique with Vladimir Pritsker, who was a long-time performer with the Syracuse Symphony. She later studied violin with Susan Waterbury at the Ithaca College School of Music. Sharon comes from a family that includes professional musicians where she grew up listening to and participating in all genres including jazz, polka, and classical. Since that time, she has filled her life with performing and teaching in public schools as well as in private settings. Sharon was passionate about teaching strings in the Central Bucks and Wissahickon school districts as well as teaching with the El Sistema program in the Lehigh Valley and Got Strings in Perkasie PA. She currently teaches privately and performs with the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra.

Teaching Style

I love getting to know my students right from the start. Learning about where they are on their musical journey, what goals they have, and why they decided to take lessons in the first place. My goal is always to create a positive, encouraging space where students can build confidence, grow more independent on their instruments, and truly enjoy the process. I mix things up with a variety of teaching techniques tailored to each student’s strengths, needs, and learning style, because no two musicians are exactly the same.

Curriculum

The lesson books we use depends on the student and our goals that we discuss. They can include Suzuki, Essential Elements, Sevcek, Rubanks books etc.
