About

I’m a classically trained cellist, pianist, and music educator with over 15 years of experience teaching cello, piano, and music theory. I’ve worked with students of all ages — from children to seniors — across different countries and cultures. I teach in English and Russian, and I also have working knowledge of German and Spanish, which has helped me understand a wide variety of teaching traditions.

In addition to teaching, I’m an active performing artist who regularly arranges music and plays in diverse styles — from classical and jazz to Latin American and world music. My performances include solo recitals, chamber concerts, and collaborative projects with professional musicians worldwide.

I’ve been awarded top prizes at multiple levels of competition — from local and regional to international — and my education includes advanced studies at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow. I’ve also participated in international festivals and master classes in Spain, Italy, and Germany, deepening my artistic and pedagogical perspective.

I bring this international experience and deep artistic passion into every lesson I teach.

Teaching Style

My goal as a teacher is simple:
👉 That you understand what you're doing and why — every step of the way.

I guide students to develop solid technique, musical expression, and independent learning skills. Whether we’re working on tone, rhythm, interpretation, or theory, I make sure you always know what we’re aiming for and how each step supports your growth.

I believe in kindness, clarity, and personalized attention. I adjust each lesson to match your learning style, goals, and musical interests — so you can stay engaged, motivated, and confident. I love working with both serious learners and passionate hobbyists.

Curriculum

I don’t rely on one fixed method or book series — instead, I mix a variety of resources to create a deeply personal experience for each student. My goal is always to highlight your strengths and build your skills step by step, using whatever materials work best for you.

You might find exercises or sheet music with markings in different languages — Russian, German, or others — but don’t worry! I’ll always be there to explain and translate everything you need. These diverse sources are part of what makes your musical journey richer and more rewarding.

That said, I’m also familiar with most major systems and books, including:

  • Dotzauer, Popper, Feuillard, Mooney, and Suzuki for cello

  • RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) and Faber for piano

  • Standard theory and harmony books, depending on the level

I often create my own custom exercises and arrangements, especially when students are preparing for exams or want to explore specific styles like jazz, Latin American music, or improvisation.
