About

I grew up and went to school in Ann Arbor, MI, and graduated from Washtenaw Community College with a degree in Pre-Engineering Sciences. My plan is to keep building my portfolio and go to a university to study Audio Engineering and Production. I have been a multi-instrumental music educator at the Plymouth School of Music for over two years now, and I've been learning my instruments of choice for over a decade. I'm currently in 2 bands working on recording and releasing original music.

In middle school, I helped run the Guitar Club with my English teacher, and have helped many friends start their musical journey. Besides that, I've performed in school with the orchestra, the multi-cultural assembly, and the Jazzistry music education group -- I also organized my first solo performance when I was 15. Since then, I've performed dozens of times, stayed involved with the local community, planned events, and produced/released 2 singles in collaboration with other artists (one with a music video!). I'm always learning, and I love sharing what I know.

Teaching Style

My goal is to make learning or honing in on your instrument feel approachable and personal. I strongly believe that learning music you like makes it easier to want to practice, and this rule is what guides my teaching. I like all kinds of music, and enjoy exploring new musical elements and techniques with my students. I focus on clarity, kindness, and personability; teaching you how to teach yourself, and be yourself while you play.

Curriculum

My lessons are personalized, which means that I design my own materials and/or write my own notes for each student during the lesson, which I scan them and send them after each lesson. I focus on building a familiar repertoire, and organizing concepts as easily-digestible as possible. As far as hard texts go, I recommend the Hal Leonard Complete Method series for my guitar, bass, and drums students, and the Alfred All-In-One course for my piano students.
