Teaching Style
My teaching style is a balance of rigor and enthusiasm. I create a supportive, fun space where you feel safe to take creative risks, push yourself, and grow.
I draw from the latest evidence-based vocal techniques, 24 years of professional performance experience in opera, choral, musical theatre and now contemporary commercial music and 15 years of teaching to help you build both technical skill and authentic expression.
I won't just hand you some scales and send you on your way. I’m a highly skilled technician, and I don’t hand out one-size-fits-all exercises —I tailor everything to you; your body, your skill level, your strengths, your areas that need growth.
My goal is that when our time together ends, you’ll walk away with a clear understanding of how your voice works, why vocal challenges show up (they always do when you’re pushing yourself), how to fix them, and—of course—you’ll sound amazing
Whether you're just finding your pitch, trying to nail an audition, be a karaoke superstar or recording an ep, I'm here to help you sing like the best version of your unique and fabulous self.
Curriculum
My teaching method is rooted in contemporary vocal pedagogy and the science of vocology, combined with a deep respect for the individuality of every singer. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter techniques—each lesson is custom-tailored to your voice, goals, and experience level.
You’ll gain a strong foundation in vocal function, breath coordination, resonance tuning, and registration balance, all within a supportive, encouraging environment. I integrate tools and perspectives from Somatic Voicework™ (The LoVetri Method), the HOWL Voice Method, New York Vocal Coaching techniques, and principles drawn from my training with John Henny, Jeanette LoVetri, and others. My acting background (William Esper Studio, Meisner technique) also plays a role—because great singing is never just about the voice; it’s about honest, uninhibited expression.
Credentials & Affiliations
My teaching approach blends contemporary vocal techniques with insights from vocology, musical theatre, pop, rock, folk, classical, bel canto and more.
I hold a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Sam Houston State University and have completed advanced training in Somatic Voicework™ (The LoVetri Method), the John Henny Contemporary Voice Teacher Academy, and the full two-year acting conservatory at the William Esper Studio.
I’ve also studied teaching and voice instruction personally with Jeanette LoVetri, John Henny, Aaron Hagan, Jacob Carr (HOWL Voice Method), and the esteemed faculty of New York Vocal Coaching.
I’ve had the privilege of performing alongside artists like Grammy award winners Chaka Khan and Faith Esham, and Tony award winner Ben Vereen. I've been a professional singer since the age of 14.
As a teacher, I work with Broadway professionals (Hell's Kitchen, Michael, CATS), recording artists, teens, and beginners alike—guiding each student to build vocal freedom, range, stamina, and expressive confidence.
